For 21 years, the duo Fjarill has enriched the musical landscape. Now Swedish singer and pianist Aino Löwenmark and South African violinist Hanmari Spiegel present their twelfth album. It bears the simple yet evocative title »Element« and is released on 2 April 2027. Just two days earlier, on 31 March, Fjarill will present the new programme at a major release concert in the Recital Hall at the Elbphilharmonie. The songs are sung primarily in Swedish, alongside other languages – always with the belief that music is above all something to be felt.
On the album and in concert, Fjarill explore the four elemental forces of fire, air, earth and water. These elements are not presented as mere concepts, but as inner states and forces that shape both people and nature: fire in eruptive emotions and radiant harmonies, air in the lightness of the melodies and celebrated moments of silence, earth in the rootedness of their chamber-music sound, water in its flowing movement and constant transformation.
At the release concert, »Element« will be performed in all its breadth for the first time, with twelve new pieces including the tribute to the forest »In i Skogen«, set within an evening shaped by subtle nuances, quiet moments and euphoric vitality. Aino Löwenmark and Hanmari Spiegel will once again be joined on stage by friends and family members. Fjarill will unfold the distinctive musical landscape that has been their hallmark for more than two decades, inviting audiences once again to listen, breathe and sing along.
