5th Avenue
Authentic, high-energy classic hard rock from the North Sea coast:
Authentic, straightforward, honest. That's what the eight Hamburg guys and gals of 5th Avenue stand for. They can call themselves a "cult band," ... the "best Hamburg live band," ... and according to Metal Hammer, even "one of the best Wacken acts." In fact, they are the only band from the lineup of the very first Wacken Open Air in 1990 that still exists today and has been a triumphant guest at the now world-famous metal festival countless times since. In addition, they have played numerous shows and international tours with various giants of rock history, including STATUS QUO, PLAN B, SAXON, DAD, DORO, and the HOOTERS. In 2016, they released their first album, "Last Greetings from the Petting Zoo," on which 5th Avenue brought together their twelve best rock anthems from their earlier and more recent career. The release of the next album is planned for 2024 – long overdue and eagerly awaited – although its production had to be postponed several times due to the Corona pandemic.

5th Avenue was originally formed in 1989. In the 1990s, the band landed a major record deal with Polydor and recorded their first album at the legendary Goodnight LA Studios in Los Angeles. However, only the commercially successful single "Luka," a cover of Suzanne Vega's hit, was released before the band surprisingly broke up in 1996. It wasn't until 2012 that they reunited with a partly original and partly new lineup – and with an even more mature sound, they continued what they had started much earlier.
