The Moving Bridges project series reflects our goal to build intercultural bridges between African artists living in
Africa and Afro-diasporic artists living in Germany. The idea is to create a series of art and education events consisting of annual art exhibitions (with a variety of art forms), performances and workshops in Germany, as well as a program of artistic events in an African country by a partner organization of artists based there.
The exhibition "south/NORTH" sheds light on one of the most pressing issues of our time: the environmental and social consequences of gold mining. At its core, the exhibition focuses on the dangers of galamsey (illegal small-scale gold mining) as well as the broader practices of industrial mining, both of which leave devastating marks on landscapes, ecosystems, and communities.
Through powerful artworks, research-based projects, and collaborative initiatives, artists explore how mining pollution affects people’s health, the natural environment, and our shared future.
The Curator Idona Asamoah, the exhibition challenges the usual way we observe the Global South from a distance, through narratives and perspectives let their matter be their own matter this time is completely infrontnof us which Dont have to be scared about Crimate change shifting North Pole but Rather be scared of crimate shifting our Future consumtion.
