The American cellist Seth Parker Woods and the Ensemble Resonanz bring six voices to life that connect with each other across time and borders. They tell of struggle and loss, of rebellion and hope, of fractures and the attempt to heal them. Memory is their common foundation.

Julius Eastman’s »Gay Guerilla« is a work of hypnotic power and a musical manifesto – a call for resistance, for visibility, for unstoppable revolution. His music knows no pause. It grows, overruns, demands – as uncompromising as his life as a black, queer composer in a world characterised by exclusion. His work is at the centre of a programme that brings different voices into dialogue with each other: Pauline Oliveros, a pioneer of deep listening, opens up a space for listening. Chinary Ung combines Western art music with Southeast Asian traditions and evokes the past. Pēteris Vasks opens up a view of the passing of time. With Jessie Montgomery, memory pushes into the present, searching for a way out and for unity. Edward Elgar takes his leave. But Eastman remains. Unstoppable. Without history, no future. Without struggle, no voice. Without blood, no cause.
