Spring is finally here, the sun is shining brightly again, and the flowers are beginning to bloom. Büsum is kicking off the new season with great enthusiasm! From April 4th to 6th, 2026, we cordially invite you to the Büsum Kite Flying Days – a colorful and joyful festival for the whole family that you shouldn't miss. From 10 am to 5 pm, a fantastic program full of color and fun awaits you.
A riot of colors over the family lagoon
The Wadden Sea island is the perfect location for this special event. Even from afar, you can see the colorful kites dancing in the sky above Büsum, displaying a variety of colors and shapes. The giant stationary kites are particularly impressive, and you can experience them up close. The kite flyers are looking forward to showing you everything and answering your questions – come and join us!

Would you like to fly a kite yourself? Then stop by the kite shop right on Watt'n Island and choose your perfect kite. You can fly your kites north of the dog beach at beach access point 14 – whether you use a kite you bought or one you brought with you.
Colorful fun for young and old
Weather permitting, the popular dragon ferry will be back for young and old! Sweets and little surprises from Schmidt Spiele will fall from the sky – a real highlight! Adults will have the chance to catch a raw egg – guaranteed fun for everyone, big or small.
