Bucerius Kunst Forum

Art in new contexts

The Bucerius Kunst Forum, located on the street "Alter Wall", invites its guests to enjoy an exclusive encounter with the classics of art. Four alternating exhibitions per year show, in a concentrated format, international art of the highest quality, from antiquity to classic modern art.

The Bucerius Kunst Forum is the place for everyone who wants to experience art in the heart of Hamburg in a new way. Located right next to City Hall, we present changing exhibitions featuring works from different eras and artistic disciplines – from great classics to surprising new discoveries. Always guided by one central question: What does this have to do with our lives today?

Our exhibitions bring art into the present. Through clear themes, powerful imagery, and distinctive staging, we create spaces where art becomes accessible and engaging. Each exhibition tells its own story and invites visitors to take a closer look, be inspired, and form their own perspective.

Whether it’s a short lunchtime tour, a family program on the weekend, an evening discussion, a walking concert, yoga, or a workshop: our diverse program offers many ways to connect with art and turns every visit into an experience – for art enthusiasts as well as curious visitors simply stopping by.

As an open institution in the center of Hamburg, we aim to bring people together, encourage dialogue, and show that art belongs at the heart of society. Especially in challenging times, we need places that create connection and offer space for exchange. The Bucerius Kunst Forum is such a place. Here, culture is not a luxury, but an invitation: to discover, reflect, discuss – and experience art together.
