Admission to the Composers' Quarter

A visit to the Composers’ Quarter offers you a comprehensive insight into Hamburg’s rich musical history. As part of a network of several museums, each exhibition focuses on a composer with close ties to the city – including Johannes Brahms, Georg Philipp Telemann, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn, and Gustav Mahler. The exhibitions are housed in historically reconstructed townhouses and merchants’ houses in Hamburg’s Neustadt district and combine authentic settings with modern forms of presentation. Multimedia installations, audio samples and original exhibits bring the lives and works of the composers to life in a vivid and accessible way.
