Museum ships as floating hotels in Hamburg
In Hamburg, up to 30 historic sailing and steam ships are anchored. On some of them, e.g. the museum ship Cap San Diego, you can spend the night in the cabins. The Cap San Diego is the largest seaworthy museum cargo ship in the world. The ship can be visited during a guided tour; the tour leads up to the command bridge, into the engine room, the shaft tunnel and the cargo hatches. You can book the saloon or hatches for celebrations or readings; hatch 3 can accommodate 500 guests on three decks. Four single cabins, four double cabins and the captain's suite for one to two persons are available for overnight guests. The cabins are equipped with two beds or one bed, a secretary, two armchairs, a sofa, table, wardrobe and a small refrigerator. Each cabin has its own bathroom. An additional bed can be placed in the cabins on request. The portholes of the double cabins are directly on the Elbe, those of the single cabins on the land side. The on-board bistro offers snacks and Hanseatic cuisine between 10:00 am. and 18:00 pm.
