The Övelgönne museum harbour is home to numerous historic ships. Many of them have been painstakingly restored by hand and are now ready for use again. Although the name may suggest it, the port is by no means a museum in the traditional sense. From the outside you can always admire the ships, and if you are lucky someone is on board and can let you experience what it feels like to step on a piece of history.
