The Hamburger Konservatorium is a major music education institution in Hamburg that brings together music education for all ages under one roof. The course programme includes early musical education for infants in their first year of life just like courses for children and young people, as well as for working adults and senior citizens. The Music School department is in charge of training beginners in the categories of instruments and singing, jazz, pop and classical music, ensembles, choir and orchestra, as well as early education and children’s choirs – and of teaching instruments to working adults.
The Academy department has a focus on vocational training, e.g. for prospective graduate music teachers with a state degree and artistic maturity. The Academy department also offers study programmes for international music students from Europe, Japan, China, Korea, and the CIS countries.
