Idyll at the Alsterlauf

The Hotel Kleinhuis Mellingburger Schleuse combines Hamburg with a pause for fresh air in the countryside.

The 4-star Kleinhuis Hotel Mellingburger Schleuse with the Kleinhuis' Historic Inn is located in the middle of the nature reserve, on the Alster river in the north of Hamburg.  Idyllically situated and yet close to the city. With a fantastic view of the historic lock you can enjoy homemade cakes or a refined dinner with selected wines. Also for meetings with family or friends, the inn with its cosy lock room or also farmhouse parlour offers enough space to spend relaxing hours in peace. On the beautifully landscaped garden terrace, the inn is an ideal place to relax and linger in the green Alster Valley in summer.  

The former inn for towboat skippers (built in 1717) has developed into a house with a special charm in an idyllic location in the north of Hamburg under a thatched roof.
