In Hamburg's Michel - the landmark and most famous church of the Hanseatic city - many events take place regularly.
The name of the building is actually St. Michaelis. It was first built in the 17th century and almost completely destroyed in a fire at the beginning of the 20th century. During reconstruction, one main objective was the historically faithful restoration of the church. In World War II, the church was destroyed again and also rebuilt according to the classical plans.
