Maritime tour along the Elbe beach

Between the "Himmelsleiter" and Teufelsbrück and from there on to Blankenese, the picturesque banks of the Elbe are lined by the Geesthang. Again and again there are beautiful opportunities for quiet or less quiet contemplation with a view along this path. Start your tour along the Elbe beach with a refreshment in the beach pearl. Here you can meet for a coffee or a beer, you look at the water and enjoy life. The beach walk will take you to the Alte Schwede, Hamburg's oldest immigrant. The almost 220 tons heavy boulder was salvaged in 1999 during the dredging of the fairway and owes its name to its ice-age hike from Scandinavia to the Elbe. Along the Elbe we continue to the Teufelsbrück harbour at the southern edge of the Jenischpark. In the Jenischpark, one of Hamburg's most beautiful landscape gardens, you can learn a lot about the bourgeois home culture of northern Germany from the late Renaissance to Art Nouveau in the Jenisch Haus. End your tour with a visit to the Ernst Barlach Haus, where you can admire the main works of the expressionist sculptor, draughtsman and writer Ernst Barlach.
