Explore Hamburg's water station
Hamburg's floating jetty is 700 metres long; the first pontoons were constructed in 1839. Built at that time for storing coal, the jetties today are mainly as points of departure for harbour cruises, harbour ferries and the HADAG steamships to Finkenwerder, Övelgönne and Blankenese. The shuttle ferries to Disney's THE LION KING also start at the Landungsbrücken. In addition, there are numerous opportunities to enjoy culinary delights and to purchase a souvenir or two. The entrance to the old Elbe Tunnel is also located here and invites you to take a stroll. There is no better starting point to explore Hamburg by boat or on foot! If you come to Hamburg on your own keel, you can even moor here and spend the night in the City Sporthafen Hamburg, with a view of the Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall.
