With its old trees, old wood on the ground, piles of branches and bushes close to the ground, Heimfelder Holz is a habitat for numerous beetles, birds and rare bat species. A total of 440 species of beetle can be found in the wood. The nature reserve is directly adjacent to Meyer's Park with its playground, pony farm and dog exercise area.

CITY AREA PORTRAIT Hamburg South

Around Harburg's inland harbour, historical and modern architectural styles merge. It's maybe even a bit like HafenCity. Finkenwerder, on the other hand, has the charm of a fishing village. – Here, you see a quite different, almost rural side of Hamburg. Harburg and Finkenwerder are also good starting points for discovering the Hamburg metropolitan area.

Stadtpark

On sunny days, the Stadtpark is buzzing - young and old meet on the large city park fields to play soccer, have picnics, sunbathe and let the kites fly. At the edge of the large meadow there's a playground with a giant swing, slide and lots of equipment. The shallow pool is a special delight for little water lovers.
