Creative self-care for adults
WHEN FEELINGS GAIN COLOR
We rarely feel just one thing. Relief can lie alongside sadness. Joy can be accompanied by uncertainty. Anger can protect something vulnerable. And sometimes, initially, it is only noticeable that "something" is present, without us being able to say precisely what it is. On this evening, you do not have to name your feelings. You approach them through creation. Perhaps you will discover which feelings overlap. Which contradict each other. Which become immediately visible and which have barely had space until now. Perhaps an image will emerge that tells something about your current experience, for which you have previously lacked words. The exercises are deliberately kept accessible. There is no evaluation and no comparison. Your work will not be analyzed from the outside or interpreted using supposedly universally valid symbols. You yourself decide what you recognize in it, what you want to convey, and what remains entirely with you. Thus, a protected framework emerges in which feelings do not have to be explained away or artificially intensified. They may simply be perceived, created, and then quietly reflected upon. The evening is also an invitation to trust your own perception a little more. Many people have learned to categorize feelings quickly, to control them, or to bypass them with rational explanations. Creative work can interrupt this habitual path for a moment. Not to turn off the mind, but to allow what cannot be logically formulated to become visible. It is about perceiving more precisely again what is alive within you. In the end, you take your created works with you. But perhaps also a clearer sense of your current inner situation. A word for something that was only vaguely perceivable before. A surprising connection. Or the experience that several feelings can coexist without having to be resolved immediately. Who is the Open Studio for? For all adults who want to familiarize themselves with Creative Self-Care without obligation – regardless of age, gender, or artistic experience. You do not need a specific problem or a prepared question. You can come with a concrete personal topic, with an elusive inner state, or simply with the wish to take two hours of conscious time for yourself and your own experience.
