Full moon hike over the Heidschnuckenweg to the Haußelberg Faßberg
From the sunset to the full moon
The certified forest educator Katrin Blumenbach leads you on the Heidschnuckenweg first through the forest that shapes the landscape in the Südheide Nature Park today. As long as there is enough light, she explains the tracks and traces of animals that she discovers everywhere with a trained eye. Later the route runs through the heath on the Hausselberg. The extensive heath area stretches up the Hausselberg, interspersed with individual gnarled junipers, a wonderful panorama of one of the most beautiful heath areas in the Südheide Nature Park. Once at the top, 115 meters above sea level, a great viewing point with a shelter awaits us. From here you have a wonderful view over the diverse landscape of the nature park.
As darkness falls we return to Gerdehaus. But hopefully it won't be really dark, because that night the full moon awaits us and enchants the landscape of the Südheide Nature Park into an almost mystical backdrop. The light of the full moon is enough to safely see the way if an experienced nature and landscape guide accompanies you. You can experience how perception changes in the dark and much more when you accompany Katrin Blumenbach.
