It was records by Keith Jarrett and Masabumi Kikuchi that first captivated pianist Tim Scherer. Above all, their ballads contain a magic that continues to fascinate him to this day. So when he set out to form a new trio three years ago, he knew he had to pursue this fascination further. Free playing has now become the trio’s defining feature: melodic compositions and free passages flowing seamlessly into one another. The three musicians move as one through hovering, fragile soundscapes. With open ears and mutual trust, they create very special moments for their audiences – time and again, each one unique.
