Excerpts from the current production "Pilk's Madhouse" (premiere on September 25, 2025 – main stage of the HfMT) will be shown.
"What is reality in this hall of mirrors?"
Twelve actors from the inclusive theater group MINOTAUROS KOMPANIE lose themselves in 16 absurd mini-dramas, exploring boredom, fear, and the daily conflict with a neurotypical reality. Between waiters, cowboys, and cracks in reality, topics ranging from departure to suicide swirl. "Pilk's Madhouse" by Ken Campbell (1973) serves as the template for an evening where logic and seriousness are suspended. What remains is a glimpse behind the facade of norms and stereotypes. Attributions disappear, and new encounters become possible.
Founded in 1999, the MINOTAUROS KOMPANIE is the theater ensemble of the Elbe-Werkstätten in Hamburg. Since Moritz Schilk took over as director in 2022, the company has positioned itself in the tradition of Hamburg's spoken theater, thus assuming a unique role in the German-speaking inclusive theater landscape. With its current production, Mr. Pilk's Irrenhaus (in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Munich), the ensemble plans to tour in the coming years and apply to various theater festivals. Through its professional work, the company sees itself as an ambassador for a more inclusive society – art for culture's sake!
