Classical music is seldom experienced in such a relaxed, informal way. The Symphoniker Hamburg’s lunch concerts make it possible: On a flying visit to Hamburg? A little time in your lunch break? Looking for an idea for a joint outing? Every one or two months, on a Tuesday lunchtime, you can just drop in at the Brahms Foyer of the Laeiszhalle. You don’t even need a ticket for the chamber music treats. Admission is free, but seating is limited. There is only a donation box at the exit – for those who enjoyed it.
The programmes are varied, with new insights into music history to be gained at each concert. Word has spread about the attractiveness of the half-hour concerts: Coming early ensures seats. The lunch concerts always begin at 12:30, but the doors at the main portal of the Laeiszhalle are already open from 11:30. Then the friendly staff of the Laeiszhalle catering will also be ready to sell light food and drinks.
