Once a year, Hamburg celebrates the Festival of Love – the party of superlatives!
When "Hossa Hossa" rings out from up to half a million throats on the Reeperbahn, it's Schlagermove in the heart of Hamburg again. Every year, Schlager fans from all over Germany and neighboring countries celebrate the world's largest open-air Schlager parade. The Schlagermove is a tongue-in-cheek homage to 70s Schlager culture, where people of all generations dance, celebrate, and sing along. Schlager fans rummage through their parents' closets beforehand for suitable accessories, polyester shirts, and flared trousers, because the Schlagermove is most fun in costume – it's not for nothing that it's called the "Carnival of the North"!
