St. Pauli Beer Tour – A journey through the brewing history of the neighborhood
Our tour starts right at the Hard Rock Cafe Hamburg – in the middle of the Landungsbrücken, where harbor air, wanderlust and beer tradition meet.
Together we'll raise a glass of ASTRA and delve into the history of a beer inextricably linked to St. Pauli. You'll learn how the beer once accompanied the hard daily lives of dockworkers – and why it remains as much a part of the neighborhood as the cobblestones and neon lights.
From there, we stroll through St. Pauli and embark on a journey back in time to the district's golden era. Our guides don't tell stories from a history book, but from real life – with North German wit, honest anecdotes, and a glimpse behind the scenes of the neighborhood.
A key part of the tour is the legendary St. Pauli pub, Zur Ritze. Here, you'll have exclusive access to the famous boxing cellar – a place where world champions trained and local legends made history. And of course, you'll enjoy a genuine Munich Helles – the signature beer of the "Ritze." Why a Bavarian beer in the heart of St. Pauli? We'll explain that on site.
The grand finale takes you to the Astra Brauhaus on Nobistor . Here you'll sample three different craft beer specialties – brewed by hand, given a modern twist, yet deeply rooted in the neighborhood. A fascinating contrast between tradition and modernity, history and contemporary culture.
