International Music Day (initiated in 1975 by Yehudi Menuhin and the International Music Council of UNESCO) takes place annually on October 1. The day is dedicated to peace and international understanding, because music connects the world. The Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra will also celebrate International Music Day 2026 with its audience at the Elbphilharmonie.
