How do rhythms influence movement behaviour, how do different types of music inspire one's own movement imagination? How can a group dance itself into a collective groove and how does movement create its own dynamics? Working with music, sound, rhythm and dynamics is central to contemporary dance. This course uses improvisation and set movement patterns to try out the various inspirational possibilities in practice. The students' own experiences will be complemented by theoretical knowledge transfer, and Gitta Barthel will show film examples of pioneering choreography in the art of dance on this subject.
