QUEERHISTORYMONTH
QueerHistoryMonth will take place in Hamburg from May 1st to 31st, 2026 (www.queerhistoryhamburg.de). Various events within the festival will bring the history (and stories) of the queer community in Hamburg to life. Everyone is welcome – Kings, Quings, Queens, Allies, Friends, (chosen) Families, and everyone in between and beyond!
Event
Experience St. Pauli differently: A queer neighborhood walk with history, insider knowledge of the scene and surprising places – including a pub stop in Hamburg's oldest gay bar.
Queer bars, drag shows, and trans, gay, and lesbian history: You'll discover the queer side of the Reeperbahn district, culminating in St. Pauli's oldest gay bar. This isn't a show, but a thoughtful and respectful tour. You'll gain insights into St. Pauli's queer history, glimpse behind the scenes of the red-light district, and hear anecdotes about a neighborhood that offers far more than the usual mainstream culture.
The tour guide is Christiane. She is 58 years old and has been a queer activist for 20 years, is from Hamburg and has been running her own tour "Queer through St. Pauli" in Hamburg's red-light district for 7 years.
The tour is offered multiple times: May 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th, 2026
