The five scholarship holders of the Flügel-Fundus Foundation present a multifaceted New Year’s concert with works ranging from Beethoven to Piazzolla. The programme includes classical masterpieces such as Beethoven’s Piano Sonata Op. 101, Stravinsky’s rousing »Trois mouvements de Petrouchka« and Mendelssohn’s virtuoso »Variations sérieuses«. In addition, baroque sounds by Pancrace Royer will be heard, as well as romantic and modern pieces by Rachmaninoff and the young composer Morris Wolf, whose Toccata will be premiered. The spirited finale will feature Piazzolla’s »Gran Tango« and »Oblivion«, as well as Vittorio Monti’s famous Csárdás.
