On February 6, 2026 at 7:00 pm, Hamburger Sparkasse and the Hamburg Youth Guitar Orchestra (JGOH) invite you to a New Year's concert at the Haspa branch in Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel (Erdkampsweg 26, 22335 Hamburg) with free admission.
After winning first place at the German Orchestra Competition last year and impressing audiences on a tour of Argentina at the end of October 2025, the JGOH underwent a major transformation at the beginning of November. Ten new members – some of them very young – joined the ensemble. The New Year's concert marks the first performance of the newly formed ensemble after this "restart." In addition to pieces performed by the full orchestra, orchestra members will also offer solo and chamber music performances.
With this concert, the orchestra members would like to express their gratitude once again for the years of support from Haspa. Most recently, the concert was supported with funds from the Haspa Lottery Savings program, and many young musicians are playing on high-quality guitars from the Haspa Music Foundation's instrument fund. This fund, through which the orchestra's sponsor – GitarreHamburg.de gGmbH – launched the "HANSE GUITAR CUP" youth competition in 2022, among other initiatives.
The New Year's concert at the HASPA branch on Erdkampsweg offers a diverse program of pieces for guitar quartet and guitar trio. Music from various countries and eras will be performed, including compositions and arrangements by Andrew York, Filippo Gragnani, Richard Charlton, Máximo Diego Pujol, Johann Sebastian Bach, Isaac Albéniz, and others.
