The chief conductor steps away from the podium: each season, Alan Gilbert swaps his baton for a violin or viola bow and puts together a chamber concert programme together with musicians from his NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra. This time, the trained violinist and violist will join Julius Beck, Aline Saniter, Jan Larsen and Phillip Wentrup in performing string quintets by Mozart and Brahms at the Elbphilharmonie Recital Hall.
