The 27-year-old Italian Luigi Boccherini composed lots of »sunny« music during his time as court composer at the Spanish royal court. He was actually a cellist, and the cello plays a major role in all his compositions. But in Spain he met an outstanding flutist who inspired him to write flute quintets full of esprit. And the audience can hear all the things that can be experienced at the royal court in »Las Parejas«, a resounding, festive horse parade. »March!« and »Gallop!« is the order of the day.
