This programme revolves almost entirely around William Shakespeare. After all, the English playwright has inspired more composers and musical genres throughout history than almost anyone else. American conductor James Gaffigan, currently General Music Director of the Komische Oper Berlin, follows this trail on his return to the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra.
