Have you ever imagined how a Montagu’s harrier sees the world? This nature documentary shows us. We follow a female Montagu’s harrier for a year—from her birth to her return to the breeding grounds—and witness the challenges she faces along the way.
The film highlights the challenges faced by most steppe birds, primarily due to climate change and habitat loss in the ecosystems where they breed.
This film is one of 44 productions selected for the European Wildlife Film Awards (EWFA) and is in the running for the Audience Award, which will be presented in 2027. Audience members will have the opportunity to rate the film on-site.

About the European Wildlife Film Awards (EWFA)
With the EWFA, the German Wildlife Foundation has launched a competition for the best European nature films. It is Europe’s first and only nature film award—only documentaries about European flora and fauna are eligible. There are a total of six award categories. An independent jury selects the winners in the categories of Wildlife, Biodiversity, Conservation, and Story. The audience can also rate the films. Movie-goers vote for the best short film, and their votes determine the Audience Award.
