For over 14 years, Nalena Doss has navigated between studios, stages, and creative spaces—lending her voice to commercials and series, working as a backing vocalist, and providing musical accompaniment for other artists. Now, she shifts the focus to her own music, bringing her songs to the stage live at Birdland Hamburg.
Her sound: an urban, summery, vintage vibe infused with a tropical longing for the origins of our existence—like an echo from the past that resonates even within the fast-paced rhythm of a big city. Warm soul meets jazz-inflected pop and organic grooves; the sound is nostalgic, yet firmly forward-looking. Guided by her mantra, "Let love be bigger than fear," Nalena explores themes of courage, self-efficacy, and genuine connection.
Her songs speak of hesitation and new beginnings, of internal resistance and letting go—and that is exactly how her EP feels: versatile, groovy, and full of delightful surprises, enhanced by musical collaborators from Hamburg who will join her on stage.
She will be accompanied by her live band: Julian Neumann (guitar), Phillip Kwaku (drums), Fabio Niehaus (keys), and Björn Kröger (bass). The evening will open with a performance by Osono, a Munich-based act known for their German-language soul-pop.
This release concert at Birdland is more than just a premiere; it is a personal moment of stepping into the spotlight—an evening that invites you to see reflections of yourself, whether in the doubts, the courage, or perhaps the realization that "someday" might just be right now.
