Neue Deutsche Welle? Wasn’t that back in the 80s...? But hang on: for several years now, there has been talk of a new New German Wave – and Selena Hamers, alias Modular, is riding it. The Hamburg resident by choice thinks beyond music in her art: her outfits, make-up, stage show and sound are perfectly coordinated and invite the audience into a world of sounds that are sometimes atmospheric, sometimes danceable, with very personal lyrics and fascinating stories.
