George Frideric Handel's "Messiah" (excerpt)
for singing along and/or listening
Together with soloists, the choir and chamber orchestra of the Hamburg Conservatory under the direction of Dávid Csizmár and numerous guest singers, we will fill the Altona Cultural Church with sound. On the program: an excerpt from Handel's Messiah, one of the most popular examples of sacred music from the Christian West, written by one of the greatest composers of the Baroque era.
With its world-famous "Hallelujah", Messiah is one of the most frequently performed works and tells the story of the life of Jesus, from his birth to his death on the cross and his hoped-for return - with calm and radiant arias and rousing choral pieces.
Choir singers who already have Messiah in their repertoire can become part of the work and the performance and sing along to the choral parts. Register now and join us!
