Franz Schubert komponierte sein berühmtes Oktett im Jahr 1824. Inspiriert von Ludwig van Beethovens Septett Es-Dur op. 20, griff Schubert dessen Besetzung – Klarinette, Fagott, Horn, Violine, Viola, Violoncello und Kontrabass – auf und erweiterte sie um eine zweite Violine.

Die Musik? Mal heiter, mal melancholisch, stets farbenreich und berührend. Für Kenner ein Schatz, für Neuentdecker ein Ereignis.

Die musikalische Leitung hat Christian Kunert.
