For more than two decades, Magdalena Kožená has delighted a global audience as one of the world’s leading voices. The New York Times once described her unique presence as: »Vocally elegant, emotionally direct and stylistically aware.« In the private ambience of the Recital Hall, this versatile singing performer, accompanied solely by Daniele Caminiti’s sensitive lute-playing, presents a programme with baroque classics, such as Purcell’s world-famous lament »When I Am Laid in Earth« and arias by the composer and prima donna Barbara Strozzi.
Please note: Daniele Caminiti was originally supposed to accompany Magdalena Kožená on the lute at this concert. Unfortunately, Caminiti had to cancel his participation due to a hand injury. Theorbo player Azul Lima will step in for him. The programme remains unchanged.
