»It’s our job to play music – things could be worse!« Always quick with a joke, the Jussen brothers, Lucas and Arthur, have a great sense of humour as well as an amazing talent for playing the piano. After more than ten years of performing together, they are well-known for their seemingly effortless playing, their enthusiasm for music and for generally being open, friendly and approachable. They make the most impossible pieces look easy and play together as one. In February, they are returning to the Elbphilharmonie to showcase their wide range of repertoire and their versatility. The programme features the calm chords of Bach chorale arrangements, the tender tones of Faurés children’s pieces, the vibrant virtuosity of Brahms and Lutosławski, as well as the rhythmical complexity and jazzy sounds of Hanna Kulenty’s »VAN« ... and Gershwin’s »Rhapsody in Blue«. This promises to be an evening to remember.
