Birgit Mattausch reads from her wonderful debut novel, "Until We Become Forest" – a book about home and migration, and a community that supports a community. Birgit Mattausch studied German and Protestant theology. For ten years, she was a pastor in southern Germany, and since 2017, she has worked as a consultant in pastoral education and training. For several years, she worked in a congregation with many ethnic Germans from the former Soviet Union and lived with them in a high-rise building.
