For ten years now, Laurenz Karsten, Phillip Oertel, and Tim Sarhan have been reconstructing live techno in an innovative way. Using guitar, bass, drums, and a variety of effects, they create the hard-hitting, unabashed sound of a Prodigy-style rave with the mechanical precision of a Richie Hawtin DJ set. There are no beautiful melodies or dreamy chords in Komfortrausch. Its screeching acid guitar lines put a 303 to shame, the monotonous bass lines lead you deep into darkness, and the visceral drum breaks and fat drops make you lose yourself in the moment.
