THEATER NIGHT HAMBURG 2026: Insights into current and upcoming productions
FRANZ VON STROLCHEN | PAUL BEHREN | SOFIA GREBEN | CANDID RÜTTER | CY LINKE AND TEAM
For Theater Night, the LICHTHOF offers insights into two very different worlds: highlights from KANDINSKY vs. KLEE, a live painting theater piece that combines painting and stagecraft, as well as first glimpses of current productions by up-and-coming artists. Among others, Paul Behren, known to Hamburg audiences as an actor, will present his first steps as a choreographer. A program for everyone who appreciates theater beyond the ordinary.

KANDINSKY vs. KLEE | Highlights from the live painting theatre by Franz von Strolchen
The audience divides into Team Kandinsky and Team Klee, each team working on a painting. You can expect a whimsical game setup that inspires creativity, but also rebellion, empathy, and the development of your own perspective.
ALMUT | First insights into Paul Behrens' choreographic work
In ALMUT, Paul Behren choreographically explores the life of his grandmother Almut Wolf, who survived National Socialism in Hamburg as a so-called "half-Jew".
KÖSH | First glimpses into Sofia Greben's dance solo
In her solo performance KÖSH (Kazakh for: nomadic movement), choreographer Sofia Greben embodies the figure of a nomad whose body never rests and settles down.
THE POLITE MACHINE | Showing by WE PRODUCE scholarship recipient Candid Rütter
As part of a WE PRODUCE research grant, Candid Rütter is exploring the relationship between humans and networked, technical systems and everyday objects.
Crazy Hour: BROKEN, LOVE | Performance by Cy Linke and Team
From 11 pm to midnight, LICHTHOF swaps stages with the Thalia Theater on Gaußstraße, presenting the performance KAPUTT, LIEBEN (BROKEN, LOVE) by Cy Linke and team. A performance about togetherness in moments of joy, destruction, and crisis. Radical, honest, poetic.
