For his last concert of the season, artist-in-residence Kian Soltani delves into classical Persian music and, thereby, into his family history: Soltani’s parents came to Austria in the 1970s to study music. His father, Khosro Soltani, is both a bassoonist and recorder player and also plays the Persian wind instruments ney and duduk. With these, he plays in Ensemble Shiraz – which has frequently given joint concerts with Kian Soltani and his cello for several years.
