At the end of November, just in time for the first Sunday of Advent, the KAWAI piano concert series will once again present a true highlight. Yungyung Guo, a musician considered one of the world's rising stars in classical music, will be performing. Born in Hong Kong in 2003, the pianist began playing the piano at the age of four.
"We are delighted to be able to present such a remarkable talent once again," says Anne-Sophie Desrez, brand ambassador for SHIGERU KAWAI, KAWAI's premium line. The young Chinese pianist, Guo, is currently studying with Moye Chen at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, but has already performed at many major, prestigious concert venues: the Sydney Opera House in Australia, the Tobin Centre for the Performing Arts in San Antonio, USA, the Beijing National Centre for the Performing Arts, and the Shanghai Concert Hall in China. She has also performed with orchestras such as the Sydney Symphony, the Shanghai Philharmonic, the Mexico City Philharmonic, and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and has appeared as a soloist in South Korea.
On November 30, she will perform works by Mozart, Dupont, Lei/Zhang, Ravel, Ligeti, and Schubert.
