Alsterdorf celebrates Thanksgiving. The Alsterdorf market becomes a meeting place for the whole family at the traditional potato feast hosted by the Alsterdorf Protestant Foundation. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., there's plenty to discover, try, and of course, enjoy.
The potato festival begins at 11 a.m. with an open-air harvest thanksgiving service in the market square. The service, which includes Holy Communion, will be supported by an induction loop for the hearing impaired.
Afterwards, a colorful program awaits visitors of all ages. In addition to various activities centered around autumn and harvest festivals, there will be plenty of delicious treats. From potato pancakes and potato soup to wild boar sausage, wild boar burgers, and sweet potato fries, to waffles and ice cream, there's something for everyone.
There's plenty of fun and games too. The straw bale castle invites little and big rascals to romp around. There's also lots to do, from face painting and the roller slide to making campfire bread.
