They were an absolute sensation in the history of music: Beethoven’s Piano Trios, Opus 1, with which Ludwig van Beethoven captivated the Viennese music scene. A star was born. The three trios were so revolutionary that Joseph Haydn, who was present at the premiere, though he considered two of the trios magnificent, strongly advised against the publication of the third. It is precisely this ‘forbidden’ trio that will be a central piece at the »Kammermusikfest! Beethoven«. Featuring the legendary Mischa Maisky on the cello. Mischa Maisky will also be performing Beethoven’s Mozart Variations.
