Sometimes you feel like you’re drowning in the crowd – like you have to conform to the masses. Fear of the unfamiliar and unknown accompanies us. Hatred and exclusion lurk in the everyday lives of many people. Hope is provided by »nirgend_anders«: a place where we can come together, with all our unique qualities.

»nirgend_anders« is an unusual kind of play. Singers and the ensemble of the junge norddeutsche philharmonie use music to create a space where identity can be freely imagined and boundaries dissolve. Real stories meet arias and songs about self-discovery – in works by Gustav Mahler, Rita Strohl, Richard Strauss and others. »nirgend_anders« encourages us to develop, to reach out to others, and reminds us of the beauty of lived diversity.
