»For me, a concert is successful when it lingers in the memory, when it surprises, moves and entertains,« says Joja Wendt, who has become Germany's most popular pianist with countless sold-out concert tours over more than 30 years. His decades-long success continues unabated, and he is the only artist to date to play three sold-out concerts in the Elbphilharmonie in one day. In 2027, he will go on tour with his new programme »Beauty and the Beast« – and will bring two very special instruments with him: »Beauty«, his beloved Steinway concert grand piano, and, by popular demand from his fans, the steel grand piano »The Beast«, which was specially forged for the Wacken Open Air festival.
»These two grand pianos symbolise my musical home: elegance and freedom, tradition and a spirit of adventure,« says the exceptional pianist, who is known for his outstanding concerts and spectacular piano performances. Whether at Wacken Open Air in front of more than 80,000 metal fans or at his concerts across Germany, Joja Wendt is a piano acrobat who thrills classical music lovers and fans of pop and jazz alike. In his new programme, Joja Wendt combines everything that defines him as an artist: virtuoso classical music, captivating rhythms, a love of early jazz, humour, improvisation – and charming personal interaction with the audience.
