In the late 1980s, The Jeremy Days were one of the few German bands to make it onto MTV at a time when the channel was still reserved for the biggest acts. With »Brand New Toy,« they had scored a kind of evergreen hit that is still frequently played on the radio today. Their blend of British pop and American art rock brought them together over ten years and five albums with legendary producers like Clive Langer, Alan Winstanley (Madness, Elvis Costello, among others), and Fred Maher (Lou Reed, Lloyd Cole, among others), and took them through the major clubs across Germany, including a UK tour. By 1995, they had sold over half a million records. No one dared to believe in a reunion anymore when, after 24 years of silence, The Jeremy Days suddenly took the stage at the sold-out Hamburg Docks in 2019 and played their way into »the history books of pop music« with an exhilarating concert evening, as NDR television commented. The band led by singer Dirk Darmstaedter was back. Would they stay?
