The Iris Kramer Quartet plays contemporary jazz with a distinctly Nordic character. Composed mainly in Iceland, its music is full of humour, rich in tonal colour and emotionally expressive – music that draws audiences in and tells stories, both real and imagined. Iceland is far more than a source of inspiration: since 2000, the island has been a second home to Iris Kramer, who has lived, worked and made music in the far north. This experience shapes the quartet’s music – its sound, atmosphere and compositions.
