HOME
The jazz and pop choir HOME was founded in November 2017 by choir directors Vera Langer and Ramón Lazzaroni. The first programme, Home, combined original arrangements, newly composed pieces and songs that explore the theme of home from
different perspectives. In May 2018, the choir made its debut at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg as part of the Long Night of Singing – in both the small and large halls.
Since then, HOME has continuously expanded its repertoire and thrilled audiences with the programmes Licht (Light), Begegnung (Encounter) (created during the COVID-19 pandemic) and Crazy. With well-known songs in new arrangements and specially composed works,
the choir touches its audience in its concerts. It works with great dedication on its very own sound. The choir is enriched by instrumentalists from its own ranks.
The choir draws musical inspiration from coaching sessions with Rabih Lahoud, Felix Powroslo, Suba Sankaran, Dylan Bell and Morten Kjaer, among others. HOME is particularly fond of encounters with other musicians and choirs – such as the classical choir HXOS from Berlin, the jazz ensemble FAVO and other ensembles. HOME has already been represented several times at the German Choir Festival: in 2022, the choir won 3rd prize in the Jazz/Pop 2 category in Leipzig, as well as the special prize for the most emotional performance. In 2025, HOME was among the top 5 choirs in its category at the competition in Nuremberg.
The choir is characterised in a special way by its mixed-voice duo leadership. Vera Langer and Ramón Lazzaroni combine musical diversity, creativity and energy. The choir is currently working on its programme ‘Elements’. Selected songs in
their own arrangements deal with the four elements and their meaning.
High Voices
The High Voices are a young pop choir founded in April 2025 by Vera Langer. The choir director writes most of the arrangements herself and, with great enthusiasm, has formed an ensemble of young voices that impresses with its energy and musical sensitivity.
After a first performance in July 2025 with twelve singers, the choir has since grown and is now presenting its first concert programme.
