Some songs take on a new life the moment they reach the stage. For Heather Nova, this moment has always been an essential part of her music. The immediate connection between her voice, the instruments and the audience runs through her career, which now spans more than three decades, and is also at the heart of her latest live album.
Heather Nova gained international recognition in 1994 with her album »Oyster«. In February 2025, her 13th studio album, »Breath and Air«, was released. Melodic arrangements and her distinctive voice characterise an album whose songs repeatedly explore themes of love, loss, longing and the search for inner clarity.
Her new studio album, »The Orchard«, is due for release in October 2026. Thematically, Nova turns her attention to hope, light and the possibility of a fresh start, without abandoning the contemplative tone of her previous work. She herself describes live music as a space where something can emerge that cannot be replicated in the studio. At the same time, she attaches growing importance to music experienced collectively, at a time when the boundaries between real and artificially generated content are becoming increasingly blurred. For Nova, this holds an irreplaceable value: people experiencing music together in the same place at the same time.
